A Capacity Building Workshop in Adaptive Governance by Luke Burchill

Overview of the importance of culturally adaptive governance in research and in particular for projects in complex topics and settings.

This free three-hour virtual workshop presented by A/Prof Luke Burchill, ALIVE Indigenous Health Research Translator, will cover the following:

– What is Adaptive Governance?
– From Adaptive Governance to Culturally Adaptive Governance: Theory & Practice
– Our Governance, Our Values, Our Voices
– Simple tips for supporting feedback, learning and decision making across the ALIVE Network

The objectives of the workshop are for the Next Gen Researcher Network to gain an understanding of:

– Adaptive Governance and its principles
– Culturally Adaptive Governance Framework (CAGF) as a new approach for centering Indigenous governance in research collaborations
– How a CAGF approach can be used to map governance styles, values, and presence of community voice across the ALIVE Network
– Strategies that can be used to support feedback, learning and decision-making across the ALIVE Network
