Providing Preventive Care in Community Mental Health Services: Client Lifestyle Risk Factors and Perspectives

Research Questions
1. Determine the prevalence of lifestyle risk factors and interest to change factors among clients of community mental health services.
2. Explore the delivery of a ‘healthy choices consultation’ delivered by a specialist practitioner to clients of community mental services, including: (a) client behaviour change goals set, (b) referrals offered and accepted.
3. Examine the effectiveness of a clinical practice change intervention, in improving lifestyle risk factors for clients of community mental health services.
4. Qualitatively explore perspectives and experiences of a population level health coaching service (the Get Healthy Service) from persons with a mental health condition.
Whose research influences you?
Primarily my supervisors. They do such incredible work in an attempt to improve the lives for people with a mental health condition. I also really look up to the other PhDers in our research team.
